Overview of the Consulting Director role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Consulting Director with experience in App Modernization, cloud-native concepts, and DevOps best practices,  to join our consulting company. As a Consulting Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing our Azure and GitHub consulting practice, overseeing a team of consultants, and providing strategic direction to drive client success. You will lead our consulting team and put them in a position to foster great client relationships while providing expert advice on Azure and GitHub best practices and deliver high-quality consulting services to achieve client satisfaction. 

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage our Azure and GitHub consulting practice, including overseeing consultants, and scaling the practice through the addition of a future practice management team, and providing guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our Sales, Recruiting, and Delivery Management teams, understanding customer business requirements, and ensuring that we are providing expert advice on Azure and GitHub best practices by ensuring that our consultants are ready to deliver. 
  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to drive client success in adopting Azure and GitHub technologies, ensuring successful project outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with clients to identify business challenges and opportunities and develop innovative solutions leveraging Azure and GitHub technologies. 
  • Create and support a path towards our consultants’ learning objectives. 
  • Conduct technical assessments, create technical roadmaps, and provide recommendations for optimizing Azure and GitHub implementations. 
  • Deliver high-quality consulting services through the consulting team, including architecture design, implementation, migration, and optimization, to clients in accordance with project timelines and budgets. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements and trends in Azure and GitHub technologies and provide thought leadership within the organization and to clients. 
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop business strategies, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to business development efforts. 
  • Provide pre-sales support, including conducting client presentations, responding to RFPs, and contributing to proposal development. 

Desired skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting, with a focus on Azure and GitHub technologies. 
  • Strong expertise in Azure services, including Azure Cloud Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure App Service, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Services, and Azure Functions. 
  • Deep understanding of GitHub and version control best practices, including repository management, branching strategies, CI/CD practices, and Advanced Security.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing consulting teams, including providing guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to clients and team members. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, and GitHub Certified Professional, are strongly preferred.
